Famous for it's picturesque marina filled with Multi-Million Yachts and the Beach with the Golden Sands. Puerto Banus is one of the most famous marinas in Europe synonymous with Wealth, Fashion, Glamorous Parties and the 'Highlife & Nightlife', is one of the World's most famous Holiday destinations.

It was originally designed as an Exclusive Harbour only, but has since turned into one of the Costa del Sol's Major Up Market leisure areas and night-spots. Puerto Banus has more than it's fair share of Pubs, Clubs, Restaurants, World-Class Shopping and Casino facilities.
Almost every designer names can be found in the harbor and in all the main streets, but if you prefer to browse smaller, more traditional Spanish shops and boutiques then there are plenty of these too.

Notably the premier Spanish department store El Corte Ingles with it's five stories, and the Marina Banus Shopping Centre are two of the most popular locations that shoppers head for. Alternatively, a visit to the weekly market held in the bullring each Saturday morning is a great way to buy both local products and holiday souvenirs!

The surrounding areas of Puerto Banus are also to be Explored and Enjoyed. The Sierra Bermeja Mountains rise up to the north of the town. The mountain is probably the reason for Banus’s own Micro-Climate which boasts over 320 days of Sunshine Each Year.

Golf
Numerous Golf Courses are scattered within a 10 km radius of Puerto Banus. Needless to say, the Golf courses are some of the Best in Europe and go towards making Puerto Banus one of the World's Top Golfing Destinations.

What can you say about the Nightlife in Puerto Banus, it`s simply one of the Best. They vary from the small Intimate intense venues, to the Largest Beach Party`s you can imagine. Clubbing in Banus, isn't like going out once a week to your favorite night spot, it is a complete life experience crammed into the most intense week or two weeks of your life.

History
Puerto Banus is named after José Banús who was a real estate developer working in Andalucia and the Marina is one of the most important ports on the Mediterranean coast. There are 915 tying-in points on the two piers, Ribera and Benabolá. In the clear blue waters the most luxurious yachts in the world have anchored and slept: the Nabila of the magnate Adnan Kashoggi, the Príncipe Abdulazis, the Tritona, and the Shaf. The port has been declared a Center of International Tourist Interest and among its many honors has the Gold Medal for Merit in Tourism. Real-estate developer José Banús took three years to build this famous marina and it was formally opened in 1970 by Prince Rainier of Monaco and his wife, Grace Kelly.
